Achievement of Dr. Utku M. Sönmez

Dr. Utku M. Sönmez, who graduated from ITU Mechanical Engineering Department in 2016, currently a postdoctoral fellow at University of California San Diego and Scripps Institute working with Profs. Darren Lipomi and Ardem Patapoutian who won the Nobel Prize in Medicine 2021 as a result of his significant contribution to the mechanobiology research.

Seminar: Aerospace Materials Research Using Peridynamics

This talk will have two parts: (1) Multi-scale deformation and failure analysis of carbon nanotube-based composites and (2) response of aerospace structures to high-velocity droplet impact. Both topics utilize the emerging computational mechanics approach peridynamics.

The Closing Meeting of the "HeatReFlex: Green and Flexible District Heating/Cooling in Turkey" Project

The closing meeting of the international project titled "HeatReFlex: Green and Flexible District Heating/Cooling in Turkey" and conducted by Prof. Dr. Ayşegül ABUŞOĞLU and carried out in cooperation with Aalborg University, Danish Energy Agency, ITU, Gazi University and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, was held on April 21, 2022, at İTÜ Mechanical Faculty.

At ITU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering , More than 60 Graduate Thesis Studies Have Been Completed in 2022.

Postgraduate thesis studies were carried out in Heat Fluid Master’s, Solid Object Mechanics Master's, Construction Master's, Machine Dynamics, Vibration and Acoustics Master's, Materials and Manufacturing Master's, Automotive Master's, System Dynamics and Control Master's and Mechanical Engineering Doctorate Programs within the scope of ITU Graduate School Department of Mechanical Engineering. In 2022, 62 postgraduate thesis studies were successfully completed. Congratulations to our successful graduates and academicians.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Alaeddin Burak İrez Started at TUBITAK 1001 Project as a Researcher

The project named "Production of Bespoke Polyethylene, PE, and Ethylene Based Thermoplastic Polyolefin Elastomer, TPO, Materials with New Restricted Geometry Postmetallocene Catalysts", in which Assis. Prof. Dr. Alaeddin Burak İrez is a researcher, is supported by TÜBİTAK 1001.

EBM Pro Workshop Organised

On Tuesday, June 21, an event was held at ITU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in order to publish the results of the EBM-PRO project supported within the scope of TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1003 Additive Manufacturing priority program.
