📢 CALL FOR POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHERS AND PhD FELLOWS!

We are seeking 2 postdoctoral researchers and 3 PhD fellows to join a cutting-edge project titled “Development of an AI-Powered, IoT- and E-Textile-Based Soil Analysis, Monitoring, and Smart Fertilization System for Agricultural Applications”.The project is led by Prof. Dr. Senem Kurşun from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and is funded by the TÜBİTAK 2247-A National Leader Researchers Program.

🌍 INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY!
In addition, selected researchers will have the opportunity to participate in short-term (3–12 months) international research visits between 2026 and 2030, as part of the EU-funded I-TEXGEO project (Total Budget: €1,683,360.00), coordinated by Prof. Dr. Senem Kurşun.

🔬 Project Scope:
This interdisciplinary project combines electronics, textiles, mechanical engineering, artificial intelligence, IoT (Internet of Things), and agricultural technologies to develop a new-generation sensor systems and a smart control unit integrated with a mobile application. The system will be embedded in the soil and will enable real-time monitoring of key environmental parameters such as moisture, temperature, pH, and nutrient/mineral levels. The goal is to enable balanced fertilization, support environmental sustainability, reduce input costs, and promote human health by preventing the overuse of chemical fertilizers.

👩‍🔬 Applicant Qualifications:

🔹 For Postdoctoral Researchers:
• PhD completed in nanotechnology, electrical-electronics, control, communications, computer engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, materials science, or related fields
• Experience in sensor systems, IoT technologies, embedded systems, or AI applications
• Published in SCI or Scopus-indexed Q1/Q2 journals
Not currently employed in any full-time position
• Strong motivation, open to interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork

🔹 For PhD Fellows:
• Enrolled in or preparing to start a PhD program in nanotechnology, chemistry, materials science, electrical-electronics, control, communications, mechanical, mechatronics, or computer engineering
• Preferably working as a Research Assistant or not currently employed
• Research-oriented, disciplined, and collaborative
