Kaynak Laboratuvarı; kaynaklı imalat araştırmalarına sahiplik ederken, sahip olduğu cihaz altyapısı ile  kaynaklı imalatı lisans-lisansüstü eğitim/öğretim faaliyetlerine katkı sağlar. Bünyesindeki çeşitli ark kaynak makinaları, MIG/MAG, TIG kaynağı makinaları ve sıvı penetran testleri, manyetik muayene, ultrasonik muayene gibi tahribatsız muayene ekipmanlarıyla eğitim ve araştırma faaliyetleri bu laboratuvarda sürdürülmektedir.

Kaynak laboratuarı, IML 401 ve MAK 401 derslerinde öğrencilerin kaynak laboratuar deneyleri için , ayrıca lisansüstü tezlerinde gerekli deneyler için kullanılmaktadır.

Bu kapsamda çok sayıda yüksek lisans ve doktora tezlerinin deneysel çalışmalarında kullanılmıştır.

Yapılan çalışmalara örnekler;

1.            AYGAZ şirketi ile birlikte LPG gazının metal kesme performansının arttırılması endüstriyel projesi

2.            MIG Sert lehimleme işleminin uygulanabilirliğinin araştırılması

3.            Ostenitik Paslanmaz çeliklerin kaynak sırasında distorsiyonunun analizi

4.            Galvanizli çeliklerin nokta kaynağında işlem parametrelerinin bağlantının korozyon dayanımına etkisinin araştırılması

5.            Arkla metal püskürtme işleminin araştırılması
